Scope: This guide supports purchasing conversations. It does not replace a workplace risk assessment, manufacturer instructions, competent training or advice on legal compliance.
Hazard and task information
List work activities, locations, workforce size, shift patterns, contractors, visitors and emergency scenarios. Attach relevant risk assessments and required product specifications to the procurement request.
Personal protective equipment
Review head, eye, face, hearing, respiratory, hand, foot, body and fall protection. Record sizes, compatibility requirements, expected replacement rate and any task-specific performance need.
Emergency and fire readiness
Review fire equipment, first-response supplies, eyewash or washing needs, alarms, emergency lighting, evacuation signs and muster-point arrangements with competent personnel.
Traffic and work-zone control
Check separation of pedestrians and vehicles, cones, barriers, delineation, warning lights, reflective materials and signs. Layout should reflect traffic speed, visibility and the approved site plan.
Procurement and lifecycle controls
For each item record quantity, model or performance requirement, user group, inspection owner, storage location, training need and replacement rule. Confirm the delivered item against the approved request before issue.
